Woman arrested for killing grandchild

75-year-old Esther Tackie has been arrested for attempting to dispose of her grandchild,an eight-month-old baby at Korle Gonno refuse dump in Accra.

The suspect,a seventy-five year old woman was noticed by the Zoomlion employees when they discovered the baby dressed in a green sweater was hidden in a cloth.The suspicious look of Esther Tackie led to an interrogation in which the police were called in to arrest her.

PRO of the Greater Accra Regional Police explained that she will be arraigned on suspect of provisional murder charge.DSP Freeman Tettey assured that all is being done to find the parents of the baby.

The corpse has since been deposited at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for autopsy to find the real cause of death.
