The Volta River Authority (VRA) has announced that it was planning to shutdown the Akosombo Unit No.l for inspection works. This according to VRA was as a result of a shortfall in power supply up to 150MW.
The shutdown will take effect from Saturday, June 30 to Monday, July 2. In a statement issued by the VRA, it was stated that the shortfall on “Saturday, June 30, would be from 6.00 pm – 11.00 pm; Sunday, July 1, 6.00 pm – 11.00 pm; and Monday, July 2, 06.00 am – 4.00 pm.”
The general public especially consumers are asked to take note and bear with the company should they experience some power outages during this period. “he VRA apologises for any inconveniences this may cause,” it said.
