Movies in Ghana have come a long way to stay since the industry changed faces and engulfed high quality expertise in producing films in the country. And from Best 2012Africa Movie Academy Awards Actor  Majid Michel to Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari, my girl Yvonne Nelson and a lot more listed on the top West African actors chart, Nigeria claims they made these wonderful talented actors and actresses all for the reason of casting them in Nigerian movies forgetting these mentioned names are Ghanaian product.

On Wednesday night, TheMonteOz.com received an annoying report from an informant stating that; Nigerian Movie Officials are planning on banning Ghana movies in Nigeria. For the pointless reason that, Ghanaians charge producers within the rate of $300 to $500usd per head when it comes to movie shoot in Ghana where a Nigerian production is in charge. Aside that, they claim Ghana movies are been worshipped more in Nigeria than their own movies. Nice one there and Thank God for that though, Ghana is appearing the top.

Funny enough a spy from TheMonteOz.com encampment was on a movie set in Accra this week and he overhead few Ghanaian producers pleading with the secretary of Nigerian Movie federation to lend hand in taking back the ban of Ghanaian movies in Nigeria since the marketing of Ghana films is high in Nigeria right about now. The source also affirmed that, the ban of movies from the motherland Ghana will underway as soon as the month of September commence. After TheMonteOz.com heard the issue, things seemed to be under control thinking the dilemma was cracked but that wasn’t what it is.

Another report dropped on our desk which declared that, the situation is on FIRE this time. Nigerians want to take Ghana by big surprise confirming the ban of Ghanaian movies in Nigeria in the early week of September and I know this command is from a very wicked minded official in Nigeria. First of all, they (Nigerians) begging to film and produce movies in Ghana was a very splendid idea because Productions in Ghana also learnt skills from them to better the life of film making in Ghana. Nigeria and Ghana sees each other as Brethrens when it comes to movie making. Why the sudden develop of bad mind simply because our casts and crews charges 300 – 500usd?

Nigerians always brag and preach wealth all the time when it comes to show offs? So why should that amount be a problem for producers in Nigeria to pay Ghanaian casts. They claim the best of African movie is from their camp but yet they always use Ghana’s most creative actors and actresses, Van Vicker as an example.

Is it that you Nigeria can’t afford your high ranked actors who are hoping for Hollywood instead of appreciating Nollywood where they are known as celebs? Does Ghanaian producers complain when actors from Nigeria charges over 1000 American Dollars per movie? Because Ghanaians always want the best, they spend their all to get the best cast from Nigeria. But now that Ghana has quality products by the aid of Nigeria, you guys are refusing to satisfy them. That is exclusively unfair. Please don’t jealous Ghana for its success in movie making.

Seven years ago, Nigerian movie made headlines in Ghana to the extent that; movies made in Ghana were no more patronized in those days. Ghana wanted to BAN movies from Nigerian at that instance but they paused and took another decision which brought Ghana and Nigeria together by collaborating with Nigeria to produce effective movies. Thanks to Agya Koo for lending hand in the rescue of Ghanaian movie with his comedy bents.

For Nigeria to ban Ghana movies in their country, on behalf Movie fans in Ghana, I will suggest they emulate the Ghanaian 7years decision of saving Nigeria Movies by collaborating more. Banning a brother’s product in your country is really irreverent and inhuman.

Save the future of African Movie and quit all these jealousy and Hatred. We don’t need that in Africa.
