Curfew has been imposed on Hohoe following the clashes between Muslims and indigenes of the township. The curfew was confirmed by the Regional Minister Henry Ford Kamel.
Clashes ensued between the two factions after the body of an Imam was exhumed from its grave and dumped by the roadside. As a result of the clashes, one person is believed to have been shot dead with others sustaining various degrees of injuries.
Calm was restored later in the day by a reinforced security presence in the township.
