Buipe in the Northern region is to benefit from a new District Hospital with an Ultra modern Accident and Trauma Centre. President John Dramani Mahama, who announced this stated that government is securing funds for the construction of five new District hospitals nationwide. The President was addressing the 39th Easter Congress of the Gonjaland Youth Association at Buipe in the Northern region.
President Mahama, said even as government strives to bring development to the people, the youth owe it a responsibility to work towards exploring other areas of mutual benefit. “Government is currently working on funding for five new district hospitals and Buipe is one of the communities to receive a new hospital. The [beneficiary] communities are Buipe, Bole, Yendi, Somanya [Eastern Region] and Weita in the Volta Region.”
He added that “the one in Buipe is going to have an ultra modern accident and trauma centre explaining that “This is because after you leave Kintampo there is no proper medical facility until Tamale and you know that accidents have been occurring on that road and people have to be driven all the way back to Kintampo or Tamale to be able to receive treatment.” “And so Buipe is going to be the accident and trauma centre between Kintampo and Tamale.”
